Designing a kitchen space can be the trickiest if you do not follow the basic guidelines and requirements each kitchen holds. The most basic of these requirements is known as the Kitchen Work Triangle defined by the National Kitchen & Bath Association. This rule requires that there exists an “imaginary” triangle between the three main worksites which are: the refrigerator worksite, the sink worksite and the stove worksite. These worksites represent the cold storage worksite, the cleaning/preparation worksite, and the cooking worksite respectively.
The rule states that the distance of each leg of the triangle should be between1.2m and 2.7m, and that the distance sum of all legs should be between 3.6m and 7.3m. As well, there should be no obstructions in the form of cabinets, islands, etc that intersect a leg of the work triangle. The idea behind the Kitchen Work Triangle is to create an efficient kitchen, where the distances between these worksites are not too far neither too close. Too far apart entails wasting a lot of footsteps while preparing a meal. Too close on the other hand, entails a cramped kitchen without any place to work. The Kitchen Work Triangle is well-researched and it is one of the most ergonomic principles applied.
At Lightex we design your kitchen space to be functional, efficient and aesthetic. Being the sole agents for Dada in Bahrain, we offer three ranges of Dada Kitchens (INDada, Dada, and Armani Dada).
Within the Dada range there are different kitchens to choose from. However, what makes Dada unique is not just the variety of kitchens but more importantly the hidden quality of the Dada products embodied in the many patents Dada holds. The Rotating Pantry, The Futura Wall Unit, and the drawer units are just examples of the patents Dada holds. Thus the design team at Lightex first designs the kitchen space making use of Dada’s patented products to increase the efficiency of the Kitchen. Then with the client the team chooses the finishes and the kitchen type the client prefers. A 3D model is presented for our client for final approval.
